Description:
The inspiring and immersive story of the man who fought for the abolition of slavery. The 18th-century politician William Wilberforce (Ioan Gruffudd, known as Hornblower) becomes a young man in the ban of preacher John Newton (Albert Finney), chased by his past as a captain of a slave boat. Newton encourages Wilberforce to dedicate his life to the abolition of slavery. But politics does not seem to be ready for his message. After several years of struggle, Wilberforce returns sickly and disillusioned to the countryside, where he meets the beautiful Barbara. Because of his love for her, he finds new strength to continue his struggle.
